we'll warm it up on the east coast. you don't need that heavy jacket today even in new england. it did snow last night as advertised. in minneapolis, it's just about over with. we got a couple inches there. minneapolis itself maybe a slushy inch or two. it is a rainy wednesday morning, though. that rain that's now over chicago and indianapolis and st. louis will slide east today. so, ohio, michigan, kentucky, tennessee, all the way down to louisiana, you will get the rain. for the east coast, as it get here's tomorrow, it's going to weaken significantly. not a lot of anything from d.c. down to atlanta. maybe a bit up there from new york city northwards. still cold up in new england in the 30s. most of the cities are in the 40s. 53 in d.c. that's why you don't need that heavy coat. heading up 20to 65 in d.c. 62 in new york. if there's airports, o'hare, cleveland, detroit maybe, our friends down in houston with a couple storms. >> thank you very much. >>> well, the first lady and the president crash a tour. >>> plus marvel comics prepares for a potential firestorm over their newe

't fly. don't worry, there will still be plenty of balloons and floats along the parade route here. seven wind sensors line the route so they will keep a close monitor on this thing and make that decision again right before everything starts to roll here. even if the big balloons don't go, and i know everybody wants to see that, i want to see that as well, even if they don't it's going to be a great parade, a lot of fun here. carrie underwood will be a part of the nbc broadcast. that's exciting. kelly pickler and florida georgia line will be on floats. country music entertainment here. the robertson family from "duck dynasty," everybody crazy about them, they will have a float for the first time. should be a very fun morning and the start to a happy thanksgiving. back to you. >> definitely going to be a sight to see no matter what. jay, thank you. stay warm out there. looks awfully cold. and a reminder the only place to see this year's macy's thanksgiving day parade is on nbc. mat lauer, savannah guthrie and al roker will have full coverage from the first float all the way down to santa c

the refresher course. >> this is one of those times i'm glad i don't drive. i take train. no problems. >> the areas of concern this morning are going to be in kentucky and west virginia. that's where it's been snowing overnight. louisville had some snow and 34 degrees. could be a little stick on bridges and overpasses. as advertised the cold air is spreading east and south, down to 28 in st. louis. that's the temperature not the wind chill. so it's a hard freeze in those areas and the wind chill is worse. take a look at kansas city, wind chill of 6. in the little rock where the front hasn't reached, wind chill is 7. 40 degree temperature drop behind this front. the cold front is now slicing through new york city, philadelphia and d.c. this is as warm as it's going to get. get much colder as the day goes on. here's the snow. you can see it on the map. much of central pennsylvania has gotten a coating of snow. pittsburgh area. a lot of it is not sticking on the paved surfaces. now it's spreading in to west virginia. as far as the goes today be prepared for the cold air, loin 28. that's
